Can you move my website?
As part of our Managed Migrations service, we’ll move your website from your existing host over to DotEngine.
This service is available for the vast majority of accounts. Please contact us so we can perform a pre-migration assessment of your website.
Are you UK based?
Yes, DotEngine is based in central London, and all our support is handled in-house—no outsourcing.
Cloud Hosting
What is cloud hosting?
Cloud hosting uses a network of virtual servers to host your website, providing flexible, scalable, and reliable resources that adapt to your site’s needs—unlike traditional single-server hosting.
Why Cloudways?
Cloudways is a managed cloud hosting platform that partners with multiple premium global cloud providers—including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, DigitalOcean, Linode, and Vultr. This allows us to choose the best infrastructure for your website’s needs, delivering high performance, strong security, and automatic scalability without the complexity of managing servers yourself.
Can I host audio and video files?
Yes and no. Hosting videos for background or demonstration purposes is fine on our platform. However, if your website depends heavily on video or audio content—like podcasts or large media libraries—you’ll need an object storage solution. We can provide this service for you at an additional cost.
Where are backups stored?
Backups are stored locally on servers within our network and externally on Amazon S3 for added security. In addition to hosting backups, we perform daily WordPress backups to Amazon S3—because you can never have too many backups.
Can I host more than one website?
No. Our semi-dedicated setup supports one website per package to ensure optimal performance and security. If you need to host additional sites, you will require separate hosting packages.
What resources do I get with hosting?
We tailor resources based on your website’s needs. Typically, brochure-style or small shop websites start with 2GB RAM and 2 CPUs, while larger, high-traffic eCommerce sites begin at 6GB RAM and 4 vCPUs. Resources can be increased as needed, with any additional costs discussed with you before starting your plan.
Domain Names
Can I transfer my domain name to you?
While we don’t generally recommend transferring your domain, you can transfer it to us or Cloudflare and grant us delegate access. Transferring to us offers the benefit of quicker DNS changes when needed, and our domain renewal pricing is slightly more competitive than others.

What payment methods do you accept?
We support most electronic methods of payment, including:

Can I request a refund?
Yes, you can request a refund within the first 30 days of your purchase for any DotEngine service, except for VPS server packages, which are non-refundable due to provider payment terms.
